Chapter 17
Kenny Kane is passionate about what he is telling his son. It says, “…Now Listen up. I Kenneth David Kane, do swear by all that’s Holy that I did not murder this boy’s mother” (Philbrick 113). This evidence shows that Kenny Kane is very certain that he did not kill Max’s mother. Also, Kenny Kane is willing to do anything so his son will believe him. It says,” And if that isn’t the truth, may God strike me dead” (Philbrick 113). This evidence shows that Kenny Kane is really determined to tell what he believes is the truth and he’s determined to prove his son. Kenny Kane is really willing to prove to his son that he is telling the truth.

Max is a very brave young man. It says, “Max is trying to fight him but I’m so small and weak” (Philbrick 130). This evidence shows that even though Max is smaller and weaker than his father he is still trying to fight. It says, “They caught you, Daddy…” (Philbrick 130). This evidence shows that even though he saw his father squeezing to death Loretta’s neck he still screams and tells him something that can make him stop. Max is a very strong young man.

Chapter 9

Freak has an extremely active imagination. "You think your just walking down this ordinary sidewalk and really you're crossing this dangerous bridge,..." (Philbrick 48). Freak pretends he's crossing a dangerous bridge when really he's just walking down the sidewalk. "Freak keeps saying stuff like, 'That's the Castle of Avarice,'..." (Philbrick 49). Freak says weird stuff while he's walking, and they were just walking in the neighborhood. Freak imagination is extremely active.
Chapter 10

I think Max seems to have questions or doubts about Freak's plan. "Freak is looking at me sideways and I can tell he's not telling me everything..." (Philbrick 55). Freak is not telling Max everything about his plan."Question: How come freak knows about this stuff in the storm drain?" (Philbrick 57). Max is asking questions about Freaks plan. So Max seems to have some questions or doubts about the plan.
Chapter 12

I think students think that Max is mean and Freak is a nerd. "Killer Kane! Killer Kane! Had a kid who had no brain!"(Philbrick 76). The students are being mean to Max because of who his dad is. That's why I think the other students think Max is mean and a nerd, and Freak is a nerd.
